Detection of a single target taxon from environmental samples using endpoint PCR or RPA and gelelectrophoresis or lateral flowstrip visualization. All assays available from literature can be implemented in our lab, novel assays for additional target species can be developed using GBlocks at our lab.

Rapid detection of single species and pathogens with CRISPR-Dx

Interested in monitoring wildlife pathogens or ultrasensitive detection of single species from environmetal samples, but annoyed by long turnaround times of sequencing? CRISPR-Diagnostics (CRISPR-Dx) will deliver accurate presence/absence information within minutes, making molecular biodiversitzy monitoring faster than ever. Available assays include detection of both amphibian chytrid fungi, several European fish species, crayfish plague and whitenose syndrome. Additional assays can be developed on request. Our CRISPR-Dx are visualized with fluorescence in a qPCR cycler for maximum sensitivity.

Arthropod species identification: Bulk metabarcoding

Besides eDNA applications, metabarcoding can rapidly and accurately identify vast amounts of specimens. Send us your arthropod specimens (e.g. malaise or pan trap content, frozen or in ethanol) for high-throughput sequencing. SamplifyLab delivers species lists and readily analyzed biodiversity metrics.
